Jackie Stevens has moved the Monday open painting session to a new location, starting on May 4th the first Monday in May, at the El Dorado Hills senior citizen building on the corner of El Dorado Hills Blvd.  It is the old fire station. Group will set up starting at ten o’clock a.m.:

I feel fortunate, my March 2 – 4 workshop filled super fast. So, we added the one above. My November workshop was a big hit. Lots of energy, lots of focus. Lots of happy painters with good work to take home and new inputs from everyone in the class!

I’ve added some fun new exercises to help us see values, and shapes of values.  Lots of one-on-one and your own personal demo with your painting, if you want it.

Painting from still life, we create dynamic compositions with attention to edges, designing with active negative space, awareness of different types of space, the hierarchy of light, and shadows that advance the plot. Applicable to all genres of painting. SFAC is a great facility and they are very pleased to have us.

Each day is a new painting with discussion, examples and lively critique with your peers. I am an animated, generous and supportive teacher.
