We want to give you the opportunity to help us come up with the theme for our TWENTIETH year of banners in 2026! Please submit as many themes as you like by the end of this coming week, Friday, January 23, 2026 The Banners on Parade Committee of Images of Hope El Dorado will meet and sift through all of the entries during the last week of January and choose one for the theme of the 2026 Banners on Parade. So, remember: your target date for submitting your theme ideas to us is Friday, 1/23/2026! The person whose theme idea is chosen will, if they apply, are accepted, and paint a banner this year, not be charged the application fee ($35) that will be charged to folks who are selected to paint a banner in 2026. Many of you have painted several banners over the years. One other item I would like you to consider is whether and how painting a banner has been therapeutic for you. It can be due to a trauma, or maybe a cancer diagnosis or treatment that you were experiencing at or about the time you painted a banner. Aside from a short paragraph about this experience for you, we are looking for quotes that we might use at some point. Finally, we wanted to let you know that for 2026, we will be offering these Keepsakes: magnets, cups, and posters (rolled or mounted). If anyone wants postcards or bookmarks, we can do them, but they will be a special order added as a note to the order forms and may cost a little more per item. We look forward to seeing your themes (you can submit more than one). Please think about it this week and get me your theme ideas and possible paragraphs and quotes--that is optional. We plan on having the 2026 Banners on Parade Call to Artists and Application available by February 2. JO CHRISTINA ARIZMENDI
