Membership Renewal If you have not yet renewed your EDHAA membership, 2026 membership renewals are now past due. Non-renewed memberships become delinquent as of February 1. The dues for 2026 are unchanged at $35 for an individual and $50 for a family. Memberships are effective for January 1-December 31 of each year with a renewal date of January 1st. If you became a member or renewed your membership by submitting your application and payment between October-December of 2025, your membership is good through the end of 2026. If you have not yet renewed your membership, now is the time. More importantly, you must be current on 2026 dues to participate in Atrium Exhibitions (year round), Teaspoon Shows (year round), EDH Farmers Market ( year round), Studio Tour (May 16-17, deadline February 13) Studio Tour Preview Show (April-June), the Gallery 48 Member Show (June-August), Fine Art Festival (October 10), and all other events produced by EDHAA. Whether you are a new member or a renewing member, you need to complete the membership form for 2026 which includes online payment. And, most of the EDHAA events require a completed Member Profile as well, so please complete both. The links are below. If you have any problems with the online member application form, email Lauren Klonaris. Member Galleries & Shows The El Doarado Hills Arts Association has arranged for its members to show at several locations in El Dorado Hills. The Atrium Gallery offers a unique space for bi-monthly shows with a theme. The Teaspoon Gallery provides a space for members to show their work on a rotating basis. The Town Center Market provides a booth for members to sell and display their artwork every Saturday morning, year-around. For more information see the Galleries page or click on the buttons below.
Artist Recognition This month the EDHAA would like to recognize three of our wonderful artists: Rebecca Guinn, Leona Dang-Kilduff and Judy Arrigotti.
5,000 Years of Night
Rebecca Guinn
Yellow Spots on Blue
Leona Dang-Kilduff
Congratulations are extended to Rebecca Guinn and Leona Dang-Kilduff on their acceptance into the Sacramento Fine Arts' Magnum Opus Exhibit. Rebecca Guinn's piece is titled 5,000 Years of Night and was completed in pastel and gouache. The art features a Bristlecone Pine underneath the magnificent Milky Way. These pines can live over 5,000 years, a fact that inspired this piece's title. Leona Dang-Kilduff's elegant glass vase, Yellow Spots on Blue, was also juried into the exhibit. For this piece, Leona fused very thick glass with multiple layers of cobalt, pale blue, opaque blue, white, clear and yellow (crushed glass). She then used a mold to form the vase shape. Leona mentioned that she was pleased with the effect of the stretched yellow spots. Magnum Opus features works by both local and international artists and is on display February 17- March 14. To visit the online gallery click here.
Judy Arrigotti
Judy Arrigotti was recently highlighted in the "El Dorado Hills has Talent" section of the El Dorado Hills Neighbors magazine. All of the EDHAA joins in congratulating Judy on this spotlight!
If you have recently received an award, recognition, or accomplishment that you would like to have highlighted in our newsletter, please send details along with an image of your art to Lauren Klonaris. |

Lori Bernardo Oil, Ink, Watercolor, Graphite & Charcoal A Fortune Awaiting Lori is relatively new to the art world. Some 14 years ago, she found herself needing an escape from reality (bad neighbors) so, she enrolled in a local community college to take a drawing class on Saturdays. She soon realized that one can learn to "do art." It was exciting and over the past 14 years she has learned much, met amazingly interesting people, traveled near and far, and always been challenged in a profound way. Yes, she even sold her house and moved on her own terms! Just a year later, Lori decided to try painting – first acrylics, then watercolors and finally oils. In addition, she had the opportunity to attend the Plein Air Conferences in CA, AZ, NM, and CO. She has attended as many as five workshops per year, including those with Jove Wang, and currently takes classes with French artist Philippe Gandiol. Being new to art, she was often the worst painter in class but “she was willing to be bad to get good” as her drawing professor Margaret Welty says. After returning home, within a few weeks the quality of her painting noticeably improved. Between taking artist workshops and community college art classes, she is pleased with the progress of her work and has been challenged to enter local art shows on occasion. She retired from her day job in early 2022 with the plan to paint and spend time at the gym and riding her bike as often as possible. She was a teacher with the prison system for 28 years, where she taught GED classes with an 80+ % passing rate and received two national awards. Her mediums include graphite, ink, charcoal, watercolor and currently prefers oils. She does still life, portraits and landscapes mostly, and on occasion ventures into what is known as feminist art. She travels often and takes her paints with her. She paints in Old Town Folsom in front of The Candle Bar once or twice a month. This August, she will be attending a 4-day workshop with Daniel Gerhartz, who had studied under Richard Schmidt. He only holds 2 workshops a year with 12 students in each workshop, and Lori is particularly looking forward to attending. She has also recently applied to the Oil Painters of America and to a Plein Air Art Event in Estes Park at the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. She is looking forward to all of these wonderful events with great anticipation. To see more of her beautiful work, be certain to stop at the Teaspoon Gallery in Town Center before March 15. THE PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Judy Arrigotti
Hi EDHAA Members,
It’s been a wet and cold winter, but a very productive one for EDHAA. Our February demonstration with Cindy Abraham was extremely interesting and educational for all in attendance. We are so fortunate to have Cindy's time, experience, and expertise on our Board. We can learn so much from her!
The current Atrium Show, “Abstract Expressions,” has been very well received, with the art of Ken Mahar, Chris Hedges, and Linda Nunes. I hope our members attend the receptions to support your fellow artists, appreciate their diverse talent, and enjoy the festive atmosphere with live music, refreshments, and public interaction. It’s fun and a great sense of pride to be a part of such community events. We can also be very proud of the ongoing shows on display of EDHAA members' art at Teaspoon and the Saturday Makers Market in Town Center.
The 2026 Art Studio Tour is shaping up to be one of our biggest and best yet, with 50 of our members participating at 14 locations from Folsom to Shingle Springs. It takes countless hours of planning and coordination to map out the studios and organize the images for the brochures, postcards, and banners to publicize the event to the community! Tim Conway and his committee are working long and hard to make it all come together into an amazing event for the participating artists and the community.
Annie O’Connell is encouraging artists to submit their applications for the Preview Show at Gallery 48 ASAP. The deadline is March 13. You won’t want to miss out on this opportunity to show your art from April 28-June 18 and attend the reception on May 1. All this exposure is a huge incentive for the public to seek out your Studio on the Studio Tour weekend!
This year we have a second extended opportunity to draw the El Dorado Hills Community to the Atrium Gallery Show featuring works by Jenny Huang and Volha Naruta-Johnson, from March 23-May 17. The reception is March 28.
All Studio Tour participating artists are encouraged to attend the Town Center, Atrium reception on March 28 and the Folsom, Gallery 48 reception on May 1 to circulate, introduce yourself, invite guests to participate in the Tour, and distribute brochures.
Looking forward to Spring and all the wonderful ARTSY opportunities,
Judy
