The El Dorado Hills Arts Association is proud to have one of our own exceptional members, Linda Nunes, present at our March 17 Members' Meeting. Please join us for a wonderful evening exploring encaustic art. Members will learn about the beautiful and unusual history of this art form, the safety considerations and tools used in creating works, and why Linda enjoys this medium. During the demonstration, members will get to see the following:

Linda Nunes is a mixed media artist working in the ancient medium of encaustic (bee’s wax and resin) or oil and cold wax – both bee’s wax media. Nunes’ studio is her "happy place," where whimsy meets planned design. Her paintings are intuitive and process driven, involving experimentation with various mixed media to create atmospheric abstractions that may lead to surreal or non-objective compositions. The work can be inspired by current events that are either personal or based on a grander scale.
Her time is divided between her studio practice, teaching workshops, leading encaustic demonstrations, and curating and jurying local shows. Nunes has been a full-time visual artist and dedicated member of the Sacramento art community for over two decades. She is also one of the three original founding members of Rancho Cordova Arts. Her studio is in Rancho Cordova, and she holds a Studio Art degree from CSU, Sacramento.
Linda is also a featured artist at The Atrium Gallery's, "Abstract Expressions" exhibit in Town Center. You can view her work in person through March 22 or by clicking here to see an online presentation of her work. Additional work and upcoming events can be found on her website, LindaNunesArt.com.
