President's Message

Picture
Hi to all our EDHAA members,

This has been an amazing year full of wonderful opportunities and delightful surprises, thanks to the dedication of our Board and Committee Chairs, who have made it all happen.

In six months, we’ll welcome the 2027 EDHAA Board and Committee Chairs. Serving on the Board takes time and commitment, but the rewards outweigh the effort. It’s a worthwhile use of your time and you’ll make wonderful new artist friends. Please consider serving your community and expanding your art connections. You won’t regret it!

Chris Hedges, our Vice President, has scheduled an array of interesting and educational demonstrators for every meeting. Thank you Chris. She has served as VP for two years and will be leaving her position in 2027.

Lauren Klonaris continues to keep everyone informed of the many activities and events available to our members. She produces the monthly newsletter, updates the EDHAA website, and monitors all the show applications. She does it all like a skilled juggler! Thank you Lauren.

Leona Dang Kilduff is our Membership Chair. She tracks our more than 150 member applications as they join. She makes name tags and greets members and guests as they sign in. Thank you Leona.

Bob Anderson is our Treasurer, who is still waiting for his replacement. He has been Treasurer for three years and wants to move on, but he continues to serve until someone takes his place. Bob is also knowledgeable about the JotForm application process and is very technology literate. He comes early to every meeting to help set up the microphone and television, so the demonstrators can be heard and seen! He’s a “Jack of all trades.” Thanks Bob.

Bob and Melissa are also co-chairing the fourth annual Fine Arts Festival on October 10. It’s another EDHAA event that takes dedication and assistance from many volunteers, so please reach out to help if you can.
Gloriah Jackson is our Secretary and is very good at tracking and recording our Board meeting discussions, even when we jump between topics or all talk at once. She also has wonderful points of view and contributes great ideas to our discussions and decision-making. Thank you Gloria.

Ken Mahar is our Chamber of Commerce representative and attends all our Board meetings. Ken’s responsible for the connections that led to the Teaspoon Gallery exhibits. He promotes EDHAA and the arts at every opportunity. Ken hangs all the banners and helps hang all the art for our shows. Thanks Ken.

Karen Cogen is a Plein Air painter who has served as our Field Trip Chairperson for two years. She’s worked closely with PAA to organize some amazing adventures. Thanks Karen and PAA for sharing!

Melissa Keyzer has worked closely with Marisa Sayago from Folsom Lake College to select the most talented and deserving recipients of the EDHAA and Joey Cattone $1,000 scholarships. Thanks Melissa.

Cindy Abraham works tirelessly and flawlessly with the EDHAA Atrium committee and Nina Watkins from Town Center to select and organize the Atrium Gallery schedules, themes, artists and receptions. Thanks Cindy, we really appreciate your expertise and your lifelong commitment to the arts.

Sally Marshall has dedicated many hours of her time to scheduling EDHAA artists, every Saturday, to sell their art at the Makers Market in Town Center’s Amphitheater. Thanks Sally.

Oranne Eichorn accepted the challenge of serving as Chair for the Teaspoon Gallery at Town Center. She schedules 2D artists for two-month displays, which provides additional opportunities for EDHAA artists to display and sell their art. Thank you Oranne.

Tim Conway organized the 2026 Art Studio Tour, and he did a wonderful job! Tim coordinated every detail: scheduling 51 artists, working with Lynne Edwards to design and distribute 6,000 brochures, working with Lauren Klonaris and Terrie Gray for publicity, and coordinating with Ken Mahar and Spike Mills to display the banners. Thanks Tim and thanks to your support team.

Annie O’Connell worked extra hard this year on the, back-to-back Studio Tour Preview Show, immediately followed by the annual Membership Show. It created a challenge for Annie to gather the needed information for participation in both shows. But, she did it and (as always) she did it well. Thanks Annie and thanks to the volunteers who help with check in and hanging.

Terrie Bennett and Terrie Gray thank you both for the continued social media coverage of our EDHAA events, activities and artists accomplishments. I see your postings regularly, and I appreciate the publicity.

Rebecca Guinn thank you for providing our refreshments at every meeting. We really appreciate the goodies.

I’m blessed to work so closely with all these wonderful people. My job as President of EDHAA is so rewarding because our TEAM works so well together. We are honored to provide so many art opportunities to our members and to the community. Please consider joining the team in 2027.

THANKS to you all,

Judy
